Declaración Artística
Las pinturas, instalaciones y carteles de Martha son un intento de traer a la luz conversaciones críticas en diferentes espacios para inspirar al público a reflexionar en lo que esta pasando en Estados Unidos - y el mundo- que está impactando a la población inmigrante. Martha pone en práctica las teorías y metodologías de Paulo Freire a través de su creaciones artísticas para generar el diálogo interdisciplinario sobre asuntos que interseccionan con la opresión, el poder, la supremacía blanca y patrones hegemónicos. Martha quiere que sus creaciones artísticas sirvan como medio para que el público pueda generar sus propias experiencias y conocimientos sobre el tema propuesto sin importar la edad, el género, el credo o la raza. Martha esta interesada en asuntos de justicia social, educación bilingüe, migración, identidad, arte Latinx, equidad, pedagogía critica, el arte accesible para las comunidades marginadas, entre muchos otros temas más.
Martha también quiere mostrar al mundo que nosotros los inmigrantes somos personas compasivas, llenas de color y que estamos aquí para quedarnos.

Martha's paintings, installations and posters are an attempt to bring critical conversations to light in different spaces to inspire the public to reflect on what is happening in the United States - and the world - that is impacting the immigrant population. Martha puts into practice the theories of Paulo Freire through her artistic creations to generate interdisciplinary dialogue on issues that intersect with oppression, power, white supremacy and hegemonic structures. Martha wants her artistic creations to serve as a means for the public to generate their own experiences and knowledge about the proposed theme regardless of age, gender, religious affiliation or race. Martha is interested in issues of social justice, bilingual education, migration, identity, Latinx art, equity, critical pedagogy, accessible art for marginalized communities, among many other topics.
Martha also wants to show the world that we immigrants are compassionate people, full of color and that we are here to stay.
